7. Character:  It is white crystal, tasting salty, cool and slightly bitter. It has low hygroscopicity, being soluble in water,slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether. The relative density is 1.527, boiling point is 520ºC. The aqueous solution is alkaline, and the acidity is enhanced when heated.
8. Usages: in food industry It can be used as yeast nutrients and dough regulator, mainly used in bread, biscuits,wine ,beer , soy sauce catalysis, century egg coloring etc. It is also used as processing aids.
 in pharma industry 
it use for expectorant, relieving cough, correcting alkalemia and diuresis,It can be used for cardiac or hepatic edema. It can also enhance the antibacterial action of penicillin
